A 30-year-old Wichita man was fatally stabbed Saturday afternoon.
Wichita Police say it happened at approximately 1:55 p.m. in the 2600 block of East Harry. Officers found Shawn Gomez bleeding from a stab wound to his upper chest. Gomez was transported to an area hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.
Police say Gomez was in a physical altercation with an unknown man when that suspect stabbed him and then fled the scene. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances behind the stabbing.
