Wichita Police investigating deadly overnight shooting

Wichita Police are investigating the death of a man in a shooting early Saturday in north Wichita.

Officers were dispatched just before 3:15 a.m. to the 3900 block of E. 13th Street North after receiving a gunshot detection alert.

As officers were responding, two men arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. A 36-year-old man later died from his injuries. A second victim, a 43-year-old man, suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police say the victims were at a business in the 3900 block of E. Vesta when a disturbance occurred and shots were fired. No suspects are in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
