Wichita Public Schools has canceled classes for Tuesday, (1/16/24), due to a projected dangerous wind chill.
The district said all non-attendance centers will remain open and all afternoon and evening athletic practices and competitions will continue as scheduled.
The district anticipates that students will be back in class on Wednesday, (1/17/24).
Derby and Valley Center schools have also canceled classes for Tuesday, (1/16/24).
Derby, Haysville, Valley Center and Salina schools have also canceled classes for Tuesday.
The Wichita Meals on Wheels program will NOT deliver Tuesday, but all other programs of Senior Services of Wichita will be open normal hours.
And the Sedgwick County Zoo will remain closed through Tuesday as well.
