The Wichita Board of Education voted Monday to give all eligible district employees a 1.5% bonus, effective next month. School district employees will receive that money as long as they're employed with the district as of Dec 20. And in March, employees will receive another 1% bonus.
The board says that the bonuses can help to retain teachers and address staffing shortages.
