The Wichita Board of Education voted Monday night to adjust the boundary line of Isely Traditional Magnet School. The vote was 4 to 2.

In the facilities master play approved in August, it was proposed that the school be changed from K through 8, as there is already a middle school within the boundary.

The board voted to make Oliver the dividing line.

Students living to the east will attend Isely, while students living to the west will attend Chisolm Trial for elementary classes, and Stucky for Middle School.

Any student already attending Isely, will be allowed to continue.

A number of parents spoke out, concerned that the transition to a K through 8 school would hurt children in special education programs.
