The Wichita School district was quick to point out problems such as decaying infrastructure and boiler rooms that were preventing some classrooms from warming properly, as students returned to class on Friday. They called it another reason to pass the district's $450 million bond issue.
Bond opponents called out district leaders for what they said is politicizing kids, using them to sway votes to make a talking point.
District officials said the freezing weather provided them with a chance to open up about what educators face every day.
Early voting for the bond issue is available at satellite locations on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Election Day is Tuesday, February 25th.
