At this week's Wichita City Council workshop, council-members heard very positive news concerning the long-delayed Northwest Water treatment facility.
The City is making progress on repairs at the plant; all materials are on-site as the contractor continues to work, but weather woes have impacted the repair schedule a bit.
The plant should restart in June, as performance testing and acceptance resumes.
The city hopes to take possession of the plant in September, followed by six months of operations before taking it fully on-line next year in the spring, before the peak demand months of summer.
