The neighborhood resource center and Empower services will be open from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and will be closed Noon - 1 p.m. daily for lunch.

The city plans a grand opening celebration this spring.

In other news, it was a short Wichita City Council meeting on Tuesday – lasting just 18 minutes.

There was no unfinished business or new council business on the agenda. The council members approved 16 items on the consent agenda. One noteworthy item among that list was approval with KDOT for distribution of roughly $3.7 million in federal funds for the completed road project on Mt. Vernon, from Broadway to Southeast Boulevard.

The council also approved a conditional use permit for a homeowner near 21st Street North and Ridge Road. The homeowner plans to build a detached garage with an accessory apartment. It was previously approved by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) and the District Advisory Board (DAB).
