Wichita’s population now exceeds 400 thousand

A new report by the United States Census Bureau shows Wichita's population is now over 400 thousand people.

The exact number is 400,991, an increase of 0.84% from 2023.

Wichita's population is nearly 67% White, 18% Hispanic or Latino, nearly 10% African-American and around 5% Asian.

Sedgwick County experienced around 2 percent growth since 2020, up to 523,824 people, an increase of more than 12,000.
