Wichita Festivals Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to creating diverse and inclusive community celebrations, along with long-time Riverfest
Poster and Artwork Contest sponsor Emprise Bank, unveiled the official 2026 Riverfest artwork for the 54th annual festival, set for May 29 – June 6.
The organization introduced artist Dustin Youngman during a news briefing at Emprise Bank. "Our local artists help make our community vibrant, and we're proud to be a long-time sponsor of the Riverfest poster art contest," said Mike Michaelis, vice chairman of the Emprise Bank board of directors and president of Emprise Financial Corporation. "By investing in local art and talent, we can contribute to the cultural fabric of Wichita and celebrate the spirit that makes our community thrive."
Youngman, a Wichita native and professional graphic designer, is a three-time contest participant and first-time winner. “Winning the competition is kind of like winning the World Series, but for designers in Wichita,” Youngman said.
Youngman said he drew inspiration from the bison, which he described as embodying “the rugged Great Plains spirit,” and incorporated the Wichita skyline and musical elements to highlight the talent Riverfest brings each year.
“This year we had 30 poster submissions from many talented artists,” said BreAnna Monk, President and CEO of Wichita Festivals Inc. “This artwork encapsulates the forward-thinking energy going into 2026 as we come together as a country to celebrate America 250.”
Riverfest returns May 29 – June 6 with traditional favorites such as the Sundown Parade, Fidelity Bank River Run and nightly fireworks. New for 2026 are the Riverfest Battle of the Bands, College Days showcasing hands-on learning from local institutions, and the Riverfest 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.
The poster artwork is sponsored by long-time supporters Emprise Bank and Docuplex.
One Riverfest button provides entrance to all nine days of events and concerts. Adult buttons cost $15 during the early-bird sale April 3 - 24, or $20 during regular pricing sales May 1 – June 6. Buttons for ages 6 – 12 are $10 throughout, and children 5 and younger are admitted free.
