A disabled man and woman in wheelchairs, were pulled from a house fire in Andover. It happened around 10:00 a.m. Monday morning in the 600 block of west Allison, near 13th and Andover Road.
Both were transported to a Wichita hospital. The man reported in fair condition. But, the woman later died from her injuries.
In a release, Andover Fire-Rescue announced the fatality. "It is with deep regret that Andover Fire-Rescue announces the passing of an elderly female patient who was rescued from a house fire earlier today. The patient was transported to Kansas Medical Center with critical injuries but unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries.
The male patient, who was rescued from the same house, was transported to Via Christi St. Francis and is expected to be released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Andover Fire-Rescue and the Kansas State Fire Marshal.
