
At Wednesday's meeting, the Sedgwick County Commission will hear a report from Dr. Sheree Utash, president of the Campus of Applied Science and Technology at Wichita State University, WSU Tech. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News he is excited about Tech's partnership with Wichita public schools, USD 259, in a the Future Ready Schools for kids who can graduate high school with an associate's degree in advanced manufacturing or health care.
Baty says COMCARE of Sedgwick County, the health department, has a contract with a service called PYXIS, which works with juveniles in the detention system who have problems with drugs and mental health issues.
Early voting starts Monday for Sedgwick County's local election November 4th. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News turnout is predicted at about 15 to 20%. He encourages citizens to make sure they are registered and vote.
