10k boxes of iconic pancake mix recalled in 11 states over allergy concerns

The Quaker Oats Co. has issued a recall for 10,000 boxes of pancake mix because it contains milk, which is not declared on the label and poses an allergy risk.

The recalled pancake mix is the 2-pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix, which was sold in stores in 11 states, according to a recall notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The affected boxes were first on sale in stores in November 2024 and have a UPC code of 30000 65040 and a best-by date of Sept. 13, 2025.

The pancake mix was formerly sold under the Aunt Jemima brand, and the recalled boxes were sent to stores in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin.

People who are allergic or have sensitivities to milk could suffer serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the recalled mix.

The recall has not resulted in any reported allergic reactions, according to the company.

Those who are allergic to milk should discard the product.
