A four-month-old baby was found alive in a Colorado apartment along with five people who were dead in what police are investigating as a possible drug-fueled party turned fatal.

The bodies of three women and two men were found at the North Range Crossings Apartments, Commerce City Police Chief Clint Nichols told the Denver Post.

Along with the five dead, police found the alive infant and another alive adult.

Nichols shared that a substance that “could be described as illicit narcotics” was found in the apartment, and testing to find out more was being planned.

“If it is going to be illicit drugs, they were very, very bad,” Nichols told the Post. “If it was drugs, no one was able to get to a phone and call 911 for a medical emergency.

Nichols also shared that he is speculating “it happened pretty quickly” with it not appearing the victims died violently. He also said there were no indications of hazardous gasses in the area.

One neighbor, Ian Scott, told the Post that he saw a woman holding a baby talking on the phone Sunday afternoon after hearing screaming. He said she looked to be “high as a kite.”

The woman told Scott that she had given a man a drug to reverse his overdose in the apartment.

The investigation is ongoing, but it is unknown if the child’s parents were present in the apartment or if those found dead lived there.
