President Joe Biden gave a waring on Thursday to Americans in Ukraine to leave the country due to Russia's increased threats of invasion.

"American citizens should leave now," Biden said in an interview with NBC News.

"It’s not like we’re dealing with a terrorist organization. We’re dealing with one of the largest armies in the world. It’s a very different situation, and things could go crazy quickly," Biden said.

Biden went on to say that there's no scenario where he would send troops to Ukraine to rescue Americans fleeing the country.

"There’s not. That's a world war when Americans and Russia start shooting at one another," Biden said.

"We’re in a very different world than we’ve ever been," Biden added.

There are currently more than 100,000 Russian troops surrounding the Ukraine border, as The Pentagon believes that 70% of Russian forces are prepared to invade the country.

Biden said in the interview that if Russian President Vladimir Putin is "foolish enough to go in, he’s smart enough not to, in fact, do anything that would negatively impact on American citizens."

Additionally, the State Department issued an advisory warning on Thursday for Americans to not travel to Ukraine during this time. They added that the government would not be able to evacuate Americans if Russia invades.

"There are continued reports of a Russian military build-up on the border with Ukraine, indicating potential for significant military action against Ukraine," said the advisory. "The security conditions, particularly along Ukraine's borders, in Russia-occupied Crimea, and in Russia-controlled eastern Ukraine, are unpredictable and can deteriorate with little notice."
