In a potential rematch that maybe nobody was expecting, former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is expected to announce whether or not he will run for president in 2024 in the “next 60 days,” putting him in former President Donald Trump’s line of fire once more.

Christie was a guest on Fox News over the weekend, and while speaking with host Brian Kilmeade, he laid out his timeline for when he will decide on whether or not he’ll launch another presidential campaign.

“I’m definitely thinking about running, probably make a decision in the next 60 days on what to do or not to do,” Christie said, calling in for the radio interview. “You know me. When I make a decision, I’ll let everybody know.”

One factor in the impending decision is Christie’s upcoming trip to New Hampshire, an early state in the primary process.

Christie ran for president in 2016 before he backed out and endorsed former President Trump. Christie then supported the former president through his 2020 campaign as well, working as an adviser in the Trump administration.

During the 2016 primary race Trump hurled ruthless insults at Christie over his job as governor in New Jersey and his weight.

Now, Christie works as a panelist on the ABC News show “This Week,” where he has been extremely vocal in his criticisms of Trump, often going after the former president for his actions.

The former governor has now started testing the water to see if he has any backing for another campaign — which isn’t totally out of the blue, as he has said he doesn’t think Trump could beat President Biden if the two had a rematch in 2024.

“Someone who is seriously considering running for president should go out there and talk to people and see what reaction you get,” Christie said about his upcoming trip to New Hampshire.

When it comes to what would stop Christie from running, the former governor shared that he has to see a route to winning the primary, the support of his family, and the belief he can offer something to the country.

“If I answer ‘yes’ to all three of those questions, then I’ll run,” Christie said. “If I answer ‘no’ to one of them, then I won’t.”

Among the notable Republicans to formally announce their 2024 campaigns are Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. Those who have not announced campaigns but appear to have support in the party include former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
