Usually when placing an online order for food there are instructions for the delivery driver to drop it off at the front door, or even call you when they're outside. So it would be quite alarming when a police officer appears at your doorstep with the food.

Well, a family in Wisconsin had placed an online order for ice cream to get delivered, but instead of the driver casually leaving it outside for them, a Fox Valley Metro Police officer was the one completing the delivery.

Police arrested the delivery driver due to outstanding warrants, according to People, but didn't want the ice cream to melt or go to waste. Officer Sam Pynenberg then decided to make the delivery himself.

Fox Valley Metro Police posted to Facebook over the weekend about Officer Pynenberg's effort to get the family their ice cream.

"Unfortunately, we had to take an online food delivery service driver into custody today," Fox Valley Metro Police said. "That means someone came dangerously close to not getting their ice cream delivery order.

"Luckily, Officer Pynenberg and our afternoon shift officers made sure that everyone got their sweet treats before they melted!"

They jokingly added that neither Officer Pynenberg or his K9, Rax, took any bites of the ice cream while it was in the police car.

By the looks of the picture, the family was pleased that police were willing to complete the delivery order for them. One of the commenters on Facebook even joked that Officer Pynenberg and Rax deserve a "glowing review for the delivery service."
