Video of an unidentified woman apparently walking through an airport sporting nothing but a bikini and a face mask shared by the Instagram page “Humans of Spirit Airlines” has gone viral, but it is unclear if the woman was even a passenger of the airline.

“This account often falsely attributes photos and videos to Spirit Airlines,” a representative for Spirit Airlines told the New York Post. “The video could have been taken at any time or any place and it has no identifying characteristic of any airline. I checked, and we have no record of this on file.”

According to Spirit Airlines’ Contract of Carriage rules, passengers may be asked to leave or not to board aircraft if barefoot, inadequately clothed, or wearing clothing that is lewd or obscene or offensive in nature.

Other airlines have similar rules. Last year the New York Post reported that Playboy model Eva J. Marie was told she couldn’t fly on a Southwest Airlines flight in a low-cut top.

Humans of Spirit Airlines did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Audacy about where the bikini woman video came from. There is no information provided in the post about what day the incident occurred or where.

However, it seems to have happened at some point during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the woman – who has blonde hair and was wearing an olive-green bikini while carrying a gray backpack and a small brown (possibly Louis Vuitton) purse – was wearing a face mask. Others around her are also wearing face masks.

“When you have a pool party at noon and a Spirit Airlines flight to catch at 4 p.m.,” said text over the video.

Since the clip was posted Sept. 2, it has garnered 285,943 views and has made headlines in New York Post as well as other outlets. Some have described the woman’s swimwear as a “thong bikini”.

More than 10 years ago, another woman made headlines for wearing nothing but a bikini to the airport. In that case, the woman said she simply wanted her TSA experience go smoother.
