A Butler man is under arrest after federal prosecutors say he had posted online threats to assassinate President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and ICE agents.

32-year-old Shawn Monper was arrested following an FBI investigation of his YouTube profile, “Mr. Satan”.

Investigators say Monper got a gun permit shortly after the Inauguration, and bought several weapons and ammo.

Among his posts:  On March 4 this year, saying he would shoot Donald Trump himself. On April 1, he posted that if he saw an ICE agent, he would consider it a domestic terrorist and open fire on them.

He’s also accused of posting "eventually I'm going to do a mass shooting."

Monper was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces both a preliminary and a detention hearing on Monday.

“I want to applaud the outstanding and courageous investigative work of the FBI and the Butler Township Police Department, who thankfully identified and apprehended this individual before he could carry out his threats against President Trump’s life and the lives of other innocent Americans,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Rest assured that whenever and wherever threats of assassination or mass violence occur, this Department of Justice will find, arrest, and prosecute the suspect to the fullest extent of the law and seek the maximum appropriate punishment.”

Last July, a 20-year-old Bethel Park man attempted to assassinate then candidate Trump at the Butler Farm Show Grounds in Butler County.
