KNSS' network affiliate Fox News reports The Washington Post stated in April that a "committee of editors" from several newspapers met and concluded that "readers don't want us to tell them what to think" and that they "perceive us as having a biased agenda."

Despite being "among our least-read content," editorials and columns are "often cited" by readers as reasons for canceling subscriptions to various publications, according to the committee.

The Des Moines Register, The Detroit Free Press, The Indianapolis Star, The Tennessean, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Louisville Courier-Journal, and The Cincinnati Enquirer are among Gannett's most well-known newspapers, along with USA Today.
