Heinz is launching a new line of child-friendly vegan foods designed to appeal to nugget-loving kids.
It's called Magical Beanz Nuggetz -- bean-shaped nuggets packed with Heinz' famous baked beans and veggies.
Plant-based eaters can choose from three variations, each of which is coated in a crispy breading.
Flavors include:
• Original Nuggetz – with tomato and sweetcorn
• Cheesy Nuggetz – with cauliflower and cheddar cheese
• Curried Nuggetz – with parsnip, carrot, coconut and mild curry spices
The company says it created the products after identifying a need for nutritious food that can be prepared quickly and without meat.
"We're really proud of our Magical Beanz Nuggetz: delicious crispy nuggets that kids will love. Who knew you could make nuggets out of the little nutritional powerhouses that are beans?! They really do seem magical – or as we would say, unbeanlievable," Sophie Higgins, Head of Growth Platform at Heinz New Ventures, said in a statement. "We think they're set to be a mealtime game-changer!"
Right now, Magical Beanz Nuggetz are only available for purchase in the U.K. It's not clear if the company has plans to bring the products to the United States.
