A new analysis of a copy of Hunter Biden’s hard drive has found that his company made just under $11 million from 2013 to 2018, but reports say he burned through the money quickly.
The analysis from NBC News examined a copy of Biden’s hard drive along with an iCloud account and other documents released by Republicans on two Senate committees.
Biden made his money from two roles as an attorney and a board member with a Ukrainian firm accused of bribery and his work with a Chinese businessman who is now accused of fraud, the analysis found.
In total, Biden made $5.8 million from 2013 to 2018 from two deals with Chinese business interests, more than half of his total earnings from that time.
However, the documents do not show what he did to earn the money from his Chinese partners, raising concerns and questions about national security, potential legal exposure, and business ethics.
Former assistant director for counterintelligence for the FBI Frank Figliuzzi shared with NBC that foreign powers getting close to someone like Biden is a national security risk.
“It’s all about access and influence, and if you can compromise someone with both access and influence, that’s even better,” Figliuzzi said. “Better still if that target has already compromised himself.”
The analyzed documents also found that Biden spent his money rather quickly, with expenditures of more than $200,000 per month from October 2017 to February 2018. Purchases included luxury hotel rooms, dental work, cash withdrawals, and Porsche payments.
Biden also admitted that he was spending his money on drugs and partying with strangers, who regularly stole from him.
At this time, Biden was also struggling to make payments on his mortgages and keep up with alimony and child support payments to his ex-wife. In addition, a divorce filing from 2017 alleged that Biden spent a large amount of money on prostitutes, girlfriends, drugs, and strip clubs.
The filing says that Biden spent the money “while leaving the family with no money to pay legitimate bills.”
Biden and his actions have been in the spotlight for years, and GOP congressional sources say that if the Republicans take back the house in the 2022 election, more documents could be requested, and even a probe into whether any of the income Biden made went to his father, President Joe Biden.
