The midwestern grocery chain Hy-Vee has announced that it is recalling two types of its cream cheese and its bulk-packaged Cookies & Cream snack mix over possible salmonella contamination.
The recall was posted in an announcement by the Food and Drug Administration, sharing that the supermarket decided to recall the items after it was made aware of possible contamination from the third-party manufacturers who produce them.
“These two recalls are being made after two suppliers issued larger recalls for their products around the country,” a spokesperson for Hy-Vee told FOX Business. “The candy item is related to the public Palmer Candy recall that occurred yesterday.”
The FDA shared that the Palmer Candy Recall, which applied to confectionary products sold by retailers nationwide, came after it “was notified by its liquid coating supplier that there was a potential for contamination with salmonella from an ingredient that was potentially contaminated from one of their suppliers.”
