(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man climbed over a barbed wire fence and into a secure area of Midway Airport Tuesday. Charges are pending.
Police say the 33-year old man appeared to be intoxicated when he went over the barbed wire fence and walked onto the tarmac at Midway Airport. When he got to a private plane, police say he took off his clothes and climbed onto a wing.
This is audio obtained by CBS-2 of the pilot in a radio conversation about it.
“He’s out here in front of the jet… He’s trying to get in. Yeah, our door isn’t open here. They have the suspect on the ground here. He’s giving them fits,” heard over airport radio by a pilot, obtained by CBS-2.
Police say the man was taken to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn for minor injuries and for a mental health check.
