McDonald’s President makes it official! The ‘Snack Wrap’ is returning next year

During a recent sit-down interview, the president of the Golden Arches said that a fan-favorite snack, which has been absent from the menu for some time, is making its return in 2025.

Joe Erlinger, the President of McDonald’s USA, shared with ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday that “the Snack Wrap will be back in 2025.”

“It has a cult following,” he said, adding that he doesn’t know “exactly when” it will return to menus across the US.

Erlinger talked about several other topics during his appearance on GMA, including the recent E. coli outbreak caused by slivered onions McDonald’s used on its Quarter Pounders in some states.

The CDC determined on Tuesday that the outbreak was over. In total, 104 people fell ill in 14 states, and a third of them were hospitalized. One person also died from the outbreak, an 88-year-old man in Colorado.

“We let people down. I want to apologize to all of our customers who were harmed by this incident,” Erlinger said about the outbreak.

Erlinger went on to say that the company had stopped sourcing its onions from Taylor Farms, where the outbreak is believed to have originated.

“We stopped using the supplier facility from which they came, and we stopped sourcing onions from the farm,” he continued. “The CDC and FDA announcement earlier this week gave us the all-clear. The investigation is over, but the work’s not done at McDonald’s.”

He noted that the chain worked in close collaboration with public health officials, ensuring that “food safety is still our top priority.” He also noted that the company needs “we need to continue to rebuild trust with consumers – we have work to do that. It will be ongoing.”

Among the other topics he touched on in the interview included a new rollout of McValue, a new cost-friendly menu that will feature several items, and the continuation of the $5 meal deal.
