Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and nearly owner of Twitter, intends to countersue the social media platform in an effort to have his $44 billion takeover rejected. In order to get Musk to honor the initial deal, the social media juggernaut declared last week that they will sue him.
The Delaware Court of Chancery chancellor Kathaleen McCormick will decide on Tuesday whether or not to grant Twitter's request for an expedited trial, which would begin in September while Musk's side is seeking for a February 2023 start date. This could be a strategy to drive down the stock price.
