On Saturday, a drive-by shooting on a family barbecue in San Antonio, Texas, resulted in at least two people losing their lives and another five being injured, police shared.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus shared at a news conference on Sunday that "the family was barbecuing out in front of the house."
According to McManus, the car drove by the family get-together and "unloaded on them about 20 to 30 rounds."
Police have shared that the two killed were men, and two women were among the five injured, but it could have been worse, according to McManus.
"There were six children inside the house that were uninjured, fortunately," McManus said. "They weren't out front."
Those shot were between the ages of 20 and 45, according to McManus.
McManus did not share whether the shooting was targeted, saying investigators "have a couple of theories." However, there was a "deadly conduct" at the address in May, but nothing else in the house's history, he said.
No information was provided on the state of those injured or a description of the possible suspects at this time.
