Target will launch two Taylor Swift exclusives on Black Friday to draw crowds

Target, Thanksgiving, Taylor Swift, tortured poets… besides starting with “T” what do all these things have to do with each other? We’ll explain.

This upcoming Black Friday (the shopping extravaganza day after Thanksgiving), Minneapolis-based big box giant Target is partnering with Swift for exclusive releases, including the official “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Book” and “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” album on both vinyl and CD for the first time.

According to a Tuesday press release from Target, the 256-page book will feature 500 images from the pop icon’s most recent tour and it will cost $39.99. These include never-before-seen performance photos from “every era” as well as rehearsal photos and reflections written by Swift.

“Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour,” said Swift. “Thank you to the fans who came to this show. You were what made The Eras Tour what it became.”

A total of 35 tracks will be featured on “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” album, including acoustic bonus songs. CDs will cost $17.99 and vinyl albums will go for $59.99. Included in the vinyl album are four marbled, translucent discs and a new poster of Swift.

“Shopping at Target is all about finding amazing products you can’t get anywhere else, which is why we’re so excited about this next chapter in our long relationship with Taylor Swift: the exclusive Black Friday release of her new tour book and vinyl album,” said Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Target. “Target is at our best when we’re creating access to joyful experiences and that’s exactly what this represents – a new way for everyone to immerse themselves in Taylor’s concert and music, right in time for the holiday season.”

Swift’s career took off when she was just 16 years old. Now, at 34, she has an impressive list of accomplishments, including 14 Grammy awards. In fact, Swift is currently the only artist who has won album of the year four times.

She started The Eras Tour last year, and it has been a massive success. This month, Audacy reported that Forbes has listed Swift as the world’s wealthiest female musician. Previously Rhianna held that title.

Swift can often be seen hanging out at Kansas City Chiefs games since her boyfriend Travis Kelce is on the team. During the current election season, she also trolled vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) and his comments about “cat ladies” when she announced her endorsement of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Former President Donald Trump, the GOP candidate, later posted on social media that he hates the pop star.

Target’s exclusives will be available in-person for Swifties (as well as their friends and families) on Black Friday, Nov. 29, a day before they are available online.
