OAKLAND COUNTY (WWJ) - An 18-year-old woman accused of drenching her father in deadly mix of drain cleaner and water back in October is now facing homicide charges after her father died of significant injuries inflicted in the attack.
Michigan State Police said Megan Joyce Imirowicz from Groveland Township was originally charged with domestic violence and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder for the Oct 1, 2021 incident.
The teen is accused of mixing lye drain cleaner and water and dumping it on her father, leaving him unconscious with chemical burns to most of his body.
The father had been hospitalized since the incident and died as a result of his injuries earlier this month.
MSP said the trooper in charge of the case resubmitted a report and the prosecutor adjusted the teen's charges to homicide.
The young woman had been out on bond and was apprehended by police Friday afternoon; she will be held at the Oakland County Jail.
