Tesla just signed a massive $16.5 billion deal with Samsung to make its next-generation AI chips right here in the Lone Star State.
These chips are the brains behind Tesla’s self-driving cars, robotics, and AI systems - and they’ll be built at Samsung’s new facility in Taylor, Texas, just northeast of Austin.
Musk says the partnership will ramp up starting in 2027, and he even joked that he’ll be walking the production line himself to keep things moving.
It’s a big win for Texas manufacturing, and a bold step in Tesla’s push to bring chip-making closer to home.
