The maker of Trader Joe's Nuts is recalling its 50% Less Sodium Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews over salmonella concerns, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
During routine FDA import testing, at least one of the recalled lots tested positive for Salmonella, sparking the recall from the grocery chain, a recall notice shared.
While most people recover from their symptoms, the bacteria is known for causing serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
However, so far, no illnesses have been reported in connection to the nuts.
The affected Trader Joe’s cashews have India or Vietnam as their country of origin. This is printed on the back product information panel of the plastic pouches along with the best-by date from Feb. 21, 2025, to March 10, 2025.
Consumers should not eat any products covered by this recall. Consumers who have purchased the recalled nuts can return them to one of the stores for a full refund.
