Former President Donald Trump is not worried about going to prison.
In an exclusive interview with NBC's "Meet the Press," Trump was asked if he is losing sleep over the thought of ending up behind bars after being indicted four times.
"I don't even think about it," he said. "I'm built a little differently I guess, because I have had people come up to me and say, 'How do you do it, sir? How do you do it?' I don't even think about it."
"These are corrupt people that I'm dealing with," Trump continued. "They're destroying our country. I don't even think about it. All I think about is making the country great, making America great."
Later in the interview, Trump acknowledged the question again.
"When you say, 'Do I sleep?' I sleep, I sleep. Because I truly feel that in the end, we're going to win. I think we're going to win an election the likes of which nobody's ever seen before," he said. "I don't think anything's going to stop it. Nothing's going to stop it, because people see what's happened to our country."
Trump is currently facing a total of 91 felony counts across four separate criminal cases: one involving alleged hush money payments he made to a porn actress in 2016, one involving his handling of classified documents after his presidency, and two for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
The fourth indictment in Fulton County, Georgia required Trump to pose for a booking photo, making him the only U.S. president to have his mug shot taken. But, again, Trump isn't bothered.
"I see somebody that love this country," he said when asked what he sees when he looks at his mugshot. "I see tremendous unfairness. I think very few people would have been able to handle what I handled... All of these things happened. Impeachment hoax number one, impeachment hoax number two. I've been treated very badly. And, I've won every single time."
If he's re-elected, Trump said he wouldn't pardon himself simply because he's done nothing wrong.
"Oh, I think it's very unlikely," he said. "What — what did I do wrong? I didn't do anything wrong. You mean because I challenged an election, they want to put me in jail?"
Trump went on to say he was given an option to pardon himself before he left office and he turned it down.
"I could've pardoned myself. Do you know what? I was given an option to pardon myself. I could've pardoned myself when I left," he said. "The last day, I could've had a pardon done that would've saved me all of these lawyers, and all of these fake charges, these Biden indictments... You know what I said? 'I have no interest in even thinking about it.' I never even wanted to think about it. And I could've done it."
