As prosecutors continued to argue in a Friday filing that former President Donald Trump should restrict his remarks regarding a federal election interference case, the GOP frontrunner was focused on securing funds for his 2024 presidential campaign.

“With your support we will overcome the vicious attacks from the deep state and evict crooked Joe Biden from the White House,” he said in a Friday Truth Social video, adding that “this country will die if we have to go through another four years of this guy.”

In the court filing, prosecutors said Trump “engaged in weeks of widespread public statements threatening the orderly administration of justice in this case,” referring to his comments about former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley and others, per NBC News.

That case is just one of four that resulted in indictments for Trump this year. However, these legal troubles have only appeared to bolster support for the former president. As of Friday, he had support from more than 55% of the GOP in the candidate polls monitored by FiveThirtyEight, more than the other candidates combined, and he hasn’t even participated in the candidate debates.

Even the release of his mugshot from Fulton County Jail in Georgia, where he was indicted on RICO charges, seemed to increase support. A spokesman from the Trump team said he raised $7 million in just days after it was released.

House Republicans have also been on a mission to impeach President Joe Biden, who beat Trump in the 2020 election and is set to run again in 2024. A first impeachment inquiry hearing was held Friday, but witnesses failed to provide first hand information that Biden committed any crimes.

At the same time, some experts believe that Trump could face prison time – or become ineligible to appear on the 2024 ballot – due to his legal issues.
