South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson has announced plans to introduce legislation that would create a new $250 bill featuring former President Donald Trump. Wilson, a Republican, shared his proposal on social media platform X.
"Grateful to announce that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump," Wilson stated. He justified the proposal by claiming that "Bidenflation has destroyed the economy forcing American families to carry more cash," and described it as the "most valuable bill for the most valuable President."
The proposal faces a significant regulatory hurdle, as the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco notes that United States currency regulations prohibit featuring living persons on American bills.
