Former President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the current situation at the United States border on Monday, saying that “hundreds of terrorists” are pouring into the country through the southern border.

Trump also discussed the upcoming election and what looks like his rematch against President Joe Biden while speaking with radio host Steve Sanchez on Monday.

Sanchez asked Trump if he ever thought the situation in the country would get this bad under Biden, to which the former president responded by saying he’s been shocked.

“I didn’t think you would have 18 million people pouring into our country. That’s bigger than New York State… It’s not even believable,” Trump said.

Touching on inflation, which has left Americans diving deeper into their wallets than ever before, the former president highlighted that “people are paying four times more for bacon,” adding that the prices are “never coming down.”

“So much wealth has been taken from people, nobody’s ever seen anything like it,” Trump said.

When it comes to how Biden has handled global affairs, Trump said he thinks his handling of Afghanistan is what sparked the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

After Biden took office, he quickly worked to remove United States troops from Afghanistan, leaving behind the government and military force they helped train. Within 48 hours, the government had been overthrown, and the country plunged into chaos.

“I think it was the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country. I don’t think we’ve ever had anything like that,” Trump said. “Russia was watching, and China was watching, and they were all watching saying, ‘This is our time now.’”

Trump added that the speed at which Biden accelerated the removal of troops was not necessary, saying that they were leaving at a fine pace. He also criticized the president for deciding to abandon military equipment in the country.

“We were leaving with dignity and strength. We were leaving, we were getting out. But after 20 years, it’s ridiculous, 20 years,” Trump said. “They left the equipment behind. $85 billion worth of equipment.”

When it comes to the bipartisan border bill that was passed in the Senate and unveiled to the House on Sunday, Trump said it is “a disaster.”

“It can’t pass. If it does pass, it will be a horror show for the Republican party and for the country,” Trump said. “It’s a horrible bill, hard to believe they put it before the people, hard to believe they bring it up for a vote.”

He went on to describe it as a foreign aid bill, having “very little” to do with the border. The bill does include funding for Ukraine and Israel in their current wars, as well as for our allies in the Pacific.

“I had the safest border in the history of the country. Now we have the worst border,” Trump said. “Now we have people coming in from prisons, mental institutions, and terrorists. Hundreds and hundreds of terrorists are pouring into our country as we’re speaking.”

Trump added that “Black people and Hispanics” are hurt most by the situation at the border, saying they are going to be “devastated.”

“People are going to work and take their jobs for less money,” Trump said, adding that he thinks unions will also be affected.
