Where is Melania Trump as her husband, former U.S. President Donald Trump, prepares for a potential indictment?

She’s at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., miles away from the drama in New York, according to sources cited by multiple outlets.

Back in the Big Apple, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office has been investigating hush money allegations related to the former president and adult film actress Stormy Daniels. A grand jury session scheduled Wednesday was postponed, so if Trump is indicted it will happen next week at the earliest. Audacy station 1010 WINS has regular updates on the case.

Allegedly, Trump paid Daniels $130,000 in 2016 through his “fixer” Michael Cohen. This payment was allegedly made to cover up an affair Trump, 76, and Daniels, 44, had around the time his son with Melania, Barron Trump, was born in 2006. What the district attorney is interested in is whether Trump Organization records were altered to facilitate the alleged payment.

Melania, 52, “is leading her own life, and still feels happy being at Mar-a-Lago, surrounded by people who love her and who never talk about reality, or bad things about her husband,” a source told People Magazine.

While Melania may be happy, the source told People that she is “angry” and that she doesn’t want to hear about the alleged hush money payment.
They said she’s been upset about the situation since at least 2018 when it was reported in the Wall Street Journal.

“She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends,” said the source. The former first lady “hopes it will pass but she doesn't sympathize with Donald's plight,” they added.

In November, Trump announced that he is running for president in 2024, and recent polls have shown that he is the GOP front runner, ahead of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Melania was by his side for the announcement, and told Breitbart News that she supported his choice to run after losing a reelection campaign against current Democrat President Joe Biden.

According to Page Six, Trump is “pumped” about his recent media attention. This week, other reports indicated that he wanted the indictment to be a spectacle – complete with handcuffs – as he thought it would help support for his campaign.

However, Page Six said Melania wasn’t as enthused.

“She wants to be away from it. She wants to protect Barron,” said an unnamed source cited by the outlet. In the past Barron, who is now 17, has been the subject of bullying, per CNN.

Recent media attention and the Daniels scandal might not be the only potential recent road bumps for the couple, according to “The Divider” book. It said that Melania was concerned with how her husband handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Kellyanne Conway also said in a testimony cited by Business Insider that Melania is the only person Trump fears.

People’s source said that Melania and Donald live in separate quarters of Mar-a-Lago estate, but are still seen eating dinner together and attending events there.

“She does very well with all of her socializing duties,” said the source. “They still see friends for dinner at the club, but live separately and do what they want on their own. They don’t spend that much time together.”

Page Six’s source said that Melania hasn’t been showing up to some dinners and events.

“Melania is lying very low,” they said.

Even as she tries to stay out of the spotlight, People’s source said that Melania is making the best of life in Palm Beach.

“Melania loves the beautiful weather and resort town atmosphere of Palm Beach,” they said. “She is happy when she is in Palm Beach. She has her son and other close family members. They are tribe-like and usually stick together. Despite what happens to Donald, she will be fine. She is well taken care of.”

The outlet requested comment from a spokesperson for Melania, who had not replied as of Thursday afternoon.
