Despite former President Donald Trump saying last week that his wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, would be on the campaign trail “quite a bit,” many are still wondering where she is.
“It’s funny. She was a very successful model, very, very successful, and yet she was a private person. She’s going to be out a lot. Not because she likes doing it, but she likes the results,” Trump said Last Tuesday during a town hall with Fox News. “She wants to see this country really succeed. She loves the country.”
Trump never shies away from praising his wife, telling the crowd that she’s a wonderful person but also a “private person” focused on their family.
“You know, a lot of first ladies would go out — they want to be everywhere. They get angry at their husband because he’s not introducing them,” Trump continued. “If I didn’t introduce Melania, she’d be very happy about it. She’s just a different kind of a person.”
Online, many have wondered where she might be, as Trump continues to make appearance after appearance without his wife.
But Trump seemed to put this to rest, saying that her first responsibility is in raising their youngest son, Baron, who is 17 and “very tall.”
“Her life evolves around that boy,” Trump said. “It’s so important to her. At the same time, it also revolves around our country and the success of our country. She’s raised a lot of money for charity. She’s a private person.”
The former president went on to say Melania was “very brilliant” and that she could be an asset on the campaign trail being multilingual.
Trump confirmed that “she loves the country” and that she will be doing a lot for the “good of the country.”
However, Melania Trump has not been present on the campaign trail, instead only making a handful of appearances here and there. Currently, Trump is focusing on winning the GOP nominee before he begins battling his presumptive opponent, President Joe Biden, should he earn the honor from Republicans.
