A continued effort to aid American's and Christian groups escape from occupied Afghanistan had hit a road block. Six of the aircrafts funded by a Glenn Beck charity have been grounded by the Taliban.
The charter flights from Mercury One are reported to be sitting empty at an airport in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. Newsweek is reporting that they were told by NGO officials that no one was aboard the planes.
According to the manifest, over 1,600 people, 123 Americans, and those with Special Immigration Visas are waiting to fly out of the region.
On Sunday, Texas Rep. Michael McCaul appearing on Fox News Sunday, said six airplanes carrying Americans and Afghan refugees were being held “hostage” by the Taliban at the airport in Mazar-i-Sharif.
He added that this is really turning into a hostage situation where they’re not going to allow American citizens to leave until they get full recognition from the US Government.
