It's being called an abuse of power that has been going on since the beginning of the Biden administration. Close to a thousand Americans who were exercising their Constitutional right to freedom of expression, and freedom of assembly are being detained in deplorable conditions.
According to a Sons of Liberty Media report, the defendants have been held for nearly two years, without trial. And in most cases without a bond hearing.
Jon Mellis is one of a dozen defendants who are in jail for attempting to save Rosanne Boyland after she was crushed in a stampede at the Capitol. In a video he talks about the conditions in which he is being held.
