A recent Stair Climb at New York City’s Liberty Park honored those who were lost on 9/11.

Hosted by Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) and presented by TD Bank, the climb, held on Sept. 6, featured Team RWB members and TD Bank colleagues climbing the building’s 2,200 stairs, symbolizing the ascent made by first responders 24 years ago.

“9/11 is significant to me because my entire military career, all 19 years, 2000 to 2019, was related to the war on terrorism,” said Team RWB member and Army veteran Anthony. “This one event impacted everything, all of my deployments and everything that I know about service and community.”

Paul Bajus, head of Retail Solutions & Service, TD Bank, and Executive Sponsor of TD Salutes, TD's veterans and allies business resource group, called the event “a powerful tribute to the courageous heroes who served and sacrificed to protect our freedoms, and it reflects our longstanding dedication to all veterans, military personnel, and service members.”

The event reinforced Team RWB's mission to enrich the lives of veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity, organizers said.

“We climbed for the fallen,” Anthony said. “For the firefighters and police who never came home. For those who served because of that day and those who still do.”
