Two-day closure for section of N. Hydraulic in Wichita

Two-day closure for section of N. Hydraulic in Wichita
Kansas Dept. of Transportation

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close a section of North Hydraulic Avenue in both directions in Wichita. According to KDOT, the closure is necessary to erect girders. The two-day project will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. on Oct. 24, after which the road will reopen.

Motorists exiting westbound on K-96 onto North Hydraulic Avenue will be restricted to right turns toward East 37th Street, with no access south of 37th. The eastbound K-96 on-ramp from North Hydraulic Avenue will remain closed. The on- and off-ramps at Hydraulic Avenue and northbound/southbound I-135, will also be closed.

Businesses within the closure area will still have direct access to their facilities. KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to kandrive.gov or call 511.
