University of Maryland Global Campus and the Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach Center are hosting a Military and Veteran Entrepreneur and Appreciation Fair on April 28 in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Presenters include Nadine Bullock-Pottinga, chief development officer at Hire Heroes USA. She told CBS Eye on Veterans host Phil Briggs that great careers are open to veterans when they know where to find them.


For veterans wanting to get into technology, Army veteran and Revature recruiter Jim Chitwood says he's looking to train veterans for the technology careers of tomorrow. Even if you don't have a background in computer science, hear Chitwood's interview and how Revature will hire, train and deploy veterans into great careers.

For Project Opportunity, Army veteran Joe Giordano and his experts can help veterans plan, start and grow their own businesses.

This event is intended to highlight veteran support services available to staff and students on the national, regional, and local levels to better serve veteran students in a holistic manner.

The event is also expected to highlight available networking opportunities. Attendees will have direct access to speak with a variety of employers, recruiters, and veteran-owned companies seeking new talent.

Additionally, a photographer will be available at the event for anyone interested in a professional headshot at no cost.
