A World War II Army Air Corps veteran turns 100 in November, but he celebrated early by taking to the air last weekend.

Jim Reynolds took to the skies over Georgia this past weekend to celebrate his upcoming 100th birthday. In February 1943 Reynolds became a navigation cadet for the United States Army Air Corps. And was promoted in August, 1944.
He says after that he knew he didn't have to go back and milk cows on the farm anymore.
During his nearly 23 years in the service, Jim logged more than 10,000 flying hours, in many different aircraft, finally retiring as a Lt. Colonel. His biggest assignment was flying transports at the end of the war.
Jim's family decided the best way to celebrate his upcoming 100th birthday was in the air. His younger brother, Jon, 84, who together they make up the last of nine siblings, and a veteran himself was on hand for the event. He said he’s proud of his brother, who’s a member of the Greatest Generation.
He adds that if he were still on active duty, he'd likely be in the Space Force today.
