It was 70 years ago that Wichita University visited Boston for a college football game, playing the Boston University Terriers at Fenway Park; Fenway is still in use as the current long-time home of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

Boston U. won the game 39-6, as the Shockers turned the ball over eight times. The newspaper account the following day in the Boston Globe newspaper had this to say:

*"B.U. was a 39-6 victor over a somewhat non-resistant University of Wichita football team in front of 8,442 paying customers at Fenway Park."

*"The so-called Wheat-huskers from Kansas were pretty much reduced to Wheaties by the B.U. attack and defense."

The Shockers only scored once on the day, a touchdown late in the first half; other than that, Wichita had eight punts, six interceptions, and a pair of fumbles. The Shockers only managed to get five first-downs for the game.
