A very close game in Florida came right down to the wire, but things didn't end well for the Kansas City Chiefs in Jacksonville. It started well for KC, scoring early with a TD pass from QB Patrick Mahomes to TE Travis Kelce in the 1st quarter. And that was followed by a 9-yd TD scamper by Mahomes in the 2nd.

But just before halftime the Jags found the end zone to make the halftime score 14-7. And coming out of the locker room, Jacksonville would get the next TD to tie things up and go ahead on a 99-yard pick 6 thrown by Mahomes.

The 4th quarter was a roller coaster. The Chiefs tied it when Kareem Hunt punched it in from 5 yards out. Jacksonville would have to settle for a FG, and then another scoring drive put Hunt back in the end zone and the Chiefs back in the driver's seat 28-24 with less than 2 minutes left.

But on the ensuing kickoff, Harrison Butker missed the field of play.  Kicking the ball out-of-bounds and handing Jacksonville really great field position.  And with a drive that took a little over a minute... Jacksonville would win it on a 1-yard run from Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence.

KC had 157 more total yards than Jacksonville, 5 more first downs, 4 more minutes in time of possession. And the Chiefs also lead in penalties, with 13 penalties costing them 109 yards. And it made a big difference, the Jaguars coming away with the 31-28 win. Next up for the Chiefs, a return to Arrowhead for a Sunday Night Football matchup with Detroit.
