On Sunday the Kansas City Chiefs were looking to recover from a week one loss to the Chargers and get some revenge for a loss to the Eagles Super Bowl LIX. And unlike the Chiefs loss in the Super Bowl, this matchup was very close from start to finish.

Sequon Barkley got the Eagles on the board first with a 13-yard TD run. Harrison Butker had 2 shots at putting points on the board next, and connected on the second attempt putting the Chiefs on the board.  The Chiefs then took a 10-7 lead on a 13-yard touchdown scramble by QB Patrick Mahomes.

Just before halftime, Jake Elliott would tie it for Philadelphia with a field goal with time running out.  And another Elliott FG would be the only points either team scored in the 3rd quarter.  And Jalen Hurts rushing for a touchdown in the 4th would expand Philly's lead 20-10.

The Chiefs would get the margin down to 3 with a big 49-yard TD pass from Mahomes to Tyquan Thornton, but that would be the final score. Eagles win it 20-17. In his game wrap-up, Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs Mitch Holthus says 2 things stood out in this very close matchup. The early missed FG by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, and the only turnover in the game being a 4th quarter redzone pick of a pass from Mahomes that went off the hands (and shoulder) of TE Travis Kelce and right into the hands of Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba.

This is the first 0-2 start for KC since 2014, which is also the last season the Chiefs failed to make the playoffs. Next up for KC is a Sunday Night Football matchup in New York facing the also 0-2 Giants.
