Here's some music to Kansas City ears: it sounds like the team is eyeing a full fan return in 2021. Speaking on 610's The Drive this afternoon, Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt gave an update on where the attendance policy stands going forward.
"Being able to get back to normal is incredibly important, and the faster we can do it I think will be better for everybody," he said. "We’re certainly hopeful in the National Football League that we’re going to be able to have full stadiums this fall. There are some hurdles that have to be jumped over between now and then -- the rollout of the vaccine, that’s got to continue to go well. But we’re very excited about the prospect of having a full Arrowhead Stadium.
"A full Arrowhead is a big asset for the Kansas City Chiefs in terms of helping our football team win games. The sooner that can happen, the better. We’re certainly planning on it, and I look forward to seeing our fans back at Arrowhead and tailgating before the game."
All throughout the 2020 season, Arrowhead's capacity was set at 22% - which was roughly 16,000 fans.
