Heading into another Monday night matchup in the Big 12, KU was hosting #1 Arizona. The Wildcats were 23-1 with the second longest winning streak in D1 men's basketball. And it was a close game, living up to expectations of a matchup between two top-ten D1 teams.
Arizona had the lead at half, 45-42 and had not led at any point in the first half. But KU stayed right there and got their first lead of the night with a little over 9 minutes left in the game. Then it was Arizona staying right with the 'Hawks and keeping the game within reach. With 34 seconds left in the game, KU only had a 1-point lead. But KU was able to hit their free throws to close it out and come away with the 82-78 victory.
Jayhawk forward Flory Bidunga finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds. KU improves to 19-5, 9-2 in the Big 12. Next up for Kansas, a trip to face Iowa State on Saturday.
