The Kansas City Chiefs have released the first official renderings of their proposed new domed stadium in Kansas, giving fans a glimpse of what could become the team's home beginning with the 2031 NFL season. The images showcase a modern, enclosed venue designed to host not only NFL games but also major events such as the Super Bowl, Final Four, concerts and other year-round attractions.
The proposed $3 billion stadium would be built in Wyandotte County near Kansas Speedway and The Legends entertainment district. Plans also include a new team headquarters, practice facility and surrounding mixed-use development featuring retail, restaurants and entertainment.
The renderings highlight a translucent roof, expansive glass exterior and architectural elements inspired by the iconic shape of Arrowhead Stadium while incorporating modern amenities expected in today's NFL venues. Team officials say the design aims to preserve the Chiefs' tradition while creating a destination capable of attracting marquee sporting events and entertainment throughout the year.
The Chiefs are expected to continue playing at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium through the 2030 season before moving into the new stadium in 2031, pending completion of construction.
