The New York Knicks are one win away from their first NBA championship in more than five decades after completing the largest comeback in NBA Finals history Wednesday night.
Trailing by as many as 29 points and facing the prospect of a tied series, New York stormed back to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 at Madison Square Garden, taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the 2026 NBA Finals.
The Spurs appeared in complete control early, building a 76-49 halftime advantage behind hot three-point shooting and a dominant offensive performance. San Antonio led by 29 points in the second quarter and still held a 15-point lead entering the fourth quarter.
But the Knicks mounted a furious rally in the final period, outscoring the Spurs 32-16 in the fourth quarter. Jalen Brunson led New York with 36 points and seven assists, while OG Anunoby delivered a playoff career-high 33 points and tipped in the game-winning basket with 1.2 seconds remaining.
Victor Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 24 points and 13 rebounds, but San Antonio struggled offensively after halftime, scoring just 30 points in the second half as its sizable lead evaporated.
The victory gives New York a 3-1 series advantage heading into Game 5 in San Antonio on Saturday. The Knicks are now one win away from securing their first NBA title since 1973, while the Spurs must win three consecutive games to claim the championship.
